We’d like to provide some CV templates to aid you in your job search. Take a look at the templates below, and feel free to craft your resume that best suits you and your style.
At the end of the day, there is no ‘correct’ way to do it, only the way you prefer.
Our tips:
Give some context on who your employer is. That might not be necessary if you work for say, Google, but the person reviewing your CV might have no idea who John Smith & Brothers Ltd is. For example:
Management Accountant
January 2022 - Present
John Smith & Brothers Ltd
John Smith & Brothers Ltd are an SME in Truro specialising in residential windows and doors. They employ approx. 250 staff with a revenue of £21m p.a. JS&B Ltd manufacture bespoke fit outs locally and install through partnerships with national and regional homebuilders.
Short bullet point responsibilities like “management accounting” or “tax returns” or “month end” just don’t cut it. Include more detail. What exactly was your involvement in this process, what were the steps you took, and the timelines/volumes/systems involved?
Make sure you distinguish your “Achievements” from your “Responsibilities”. Tell us the outcomes of your work.
